In 2008 Matthew graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in human physiology along with a minor in multimedia design. In 2010 he completed post baccalaureate studies in graphic design at Portland State University.
Matthew worked as a graphic designer in Jordan brand from 2011 to 2015. From 2015 to 2020 he was a graphic designer in Nikelab NRG focusing on working with external brands and collaborators as well as the ACG (All Conditions Gear) and ISPA lines. Currently Design Manager, Apparel Graphics for The North Face.
